…an interactive learning experience

It is the coming together of a sizeable group of intentional persons, who are keen on making the next season of their lives better than the previous.

In my book, The Checklist, I identified 5 essential elements of achievement; at the seminar, we examine these elements in practical terms, but more importantly, I share fresh ideas about personal growth and achievement, that I did not cover in the book.

Attending this Seminar will help you plan and prepare for greater achievement in your immediate future.

I look forward to sharing knowledge with you at The Checklist Seminar.

An excerpt from The Book “The Checklist”

A distraction is anything capable of breaking your rhythm, slowing you down, or completely derailing you. Examples of distractions are illegitimate pleasures, destructive criticisms, and offenses. Potiphar’s wife was a distraction to Joseph, Bathsheba was a distraction to David, and without knowing it, Peter at some point became a distraction to Jesus.  Most of the time, distractions come through relationships. Even some of your loved ones without knowing it can become a distraction to you.

Here’s how to spot a distraction: WHATEVER IS NOT MOVING YOU FORWARD IS A DISTRACTION.  If it’s not helping you, it’s working against you. The only productive way to handle a distraction is to ignore it & keep moving.  Don’t pay attention to it, just keep doing what you are doing. My go-to guy on defeating distractions is Nehemiah. Look at how he dealt with his distraction:

Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem the Arab, and the rest of our enemies found out that I had finished rebuilding the wall and that no gaps remained—though we had not yet set up the doors in the gates. 2 So Sanballat and Geshem sent a message asking me to meet them at one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But I realized they were plotting to harm me, 3 so I replied by sending this message to them: “I am engaged in a great work, so I can’t come. Why should I stop working to come and meet with you?” 4 FOUR TIMES THEY SENT THE SAME MESSAGE, AND EACH TIME I GAVE THE SAME REPLY.

Nehemiah 6:1-4 (NLT)

To deal with distractions, you must be stubborn and resolute. When you reject a distraction over and over again, it will let you be. Potiphar’s wife and Bathsheba were both distractions, but the difference between David and Joseph was not the size of their respective challenges, but the resolve of the latter never to shift ground. Let’s call it positive stubbornness. You don’t negotiate with distractions, you ignore them and move on. That’s what Joseph did, and that’s what you need to do.
